Enjoy a one-day trip from Casey to Hwacheon, Gangwon Province. Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival is Koreans’ favorite winter festival. Have fun with various winter activities on a frozen river in Hwacheon, the first area to freeze in Korea. Spot Sancheoneo (Mountain Trout) under the river and dry fishing through the holes. Then, you can grill or get it filleted to taste fresh mountain trout on the site. And visit Indoor Ice Sculpture Square and see spectacular ice Artworks combined with colorful lighting.
It is better for you to bring a towel, because sometimes water drops on the fishing rod are freezing.
• Wear a thick winter coat, thermals, sweater, thick socks, a hat, gloves or mittens, and a scarf.
• Please bring Korean won for souvenirs and lunch or snacks.
